We’re hiring: Executive Director of Community Operations applications now open

Forensicare is looking to hire a new Executive Director of Community Operations. Applications are now open.

Who are we?

Forensicare is the leading provider of forensic mental health care in Victoria. We work to meet the needs of consumers with serious mental illnesses across the Victorian justice system, mental health sectors and the community.

We’re the only service that spans across both the mental health and justice sectors, so we have a unique perspective on mental health and public safety. We provide a variety of specialist forensic mental health services, with the goal of treating our patients and consumers, so they can manage their mental illnesses and lead fulfilling, safe lives, for both themselves and the wider community.

Due to rapid expansion, we are seeking a new Executive Director of Community Operations!

What is Community Operations?

The Community Forensic Mental Health Service is a Forensicare outpatient, community-based program for persons with a serious mental illness who have offended, or are at serious risk of offending. Community provides specialist assessment, treatment and programs to treat consumers with problem behaviours living in the community.

As well as providing community mental health programs, the Community Forensic Mental Health Service also provides advice and assessments to court proceedings, at the request of Magistrates and Judges.

What does the Executive Director role entail?

As a key member of the Executive team, you will report to the Chief Executive Officer, and manage the Community Forensic Mental Health Service. You will manage a dedicated team of over 100 staff members, who are primarily located at the Paul Mullen Centre in Clifton Hill.

To be successful in this role, you must be an effective communicator and influencer, with a strong understanding of working within systems, and the ability to negotiate with multiple government and judicial stakeholders where required.

Demonstrated experience in senior level in the health, mental health or NGO sectors, managing large teams or service components, is essential.
