Normal life has been disrupted: a guide to managing disruption caused by COVID-19

In collaboration with Occupational Therapy Australia, Forensicare’s Lorrae Mynard has created an important resource for managing daily life amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Life has been disrupted. That much is clear.

With the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, causing wide-spread changes to daily life, it’s more important than ever to support our communities with innovative ways to reconnect with our lives in isolation.

That’s why Forensicare’s Lead Occupational Therapist, Lorrae Mynard, has created Normal life has been disrupted: a guide to managing disruption caused by COVID-19, an e-book which addresses how our productivity, leisure, self-care, routine and roles may be impacted by the virus, suggesting ways we can manage these changes.

It’s a handy resource that anyone can use; individuals, families, teams, workplaces, and social services supporting others.

About Normal life has been disrupted: a guide to managing disruption caused by COVID-19

“The restrictions caused by COVID-19 are dramatically affecting how people live their everyday lives,” Lorrae told Occupational Therapy Australia.

“I wrote this guide to help people consider how they can adapt to this unusual situation. “

The handy guide is filled with practical but powerful advice on how exist during these uncertain times–like keeping to a routine, sleeping well, self-care, and maintaining social connection in isolation.

“Our changing times don’t mean we have to let go of the things that matter to us–it’s simply a matter of re-thinking how we can adapt,” Lorrae said.

While Lorrae produced the e-book outside of Forensicare, we are still very proud of her very important work.

“Lorrae has created a very supportive, very considered approach to change that will help people from all walks of life manage this uncertainty,” Forensicare’s Chief Occupational Therapist said.

“We’re very proud of her hard work, and I feel very lucky to be able to work alongside her.”

The e-book has been recognised internationally, and is currently being translated into Italian and other languages.
