Employee Benefits Expo a smashing success

Employee Benefits Expo a smashing success

And we couldn’t have done it without our team of dedicated staff and benefit providers.

At Forensicare, we value each and every staff member. We know our staff work hard for a great cause—and that’s why it’s so important to recognise their invaluable efforts by highlighting some of the amazing benefits of working with us: an organisation that truly transforms lives of the mentally ill. We do this by holding an Employee Benefits Expo each year; and this one was bigger and better than ever!

What’s an Employee Benefits Expo?

On Wednesday 12 December, Thomas Embling Hospital hosted the 2018 Employee Benefits Expo to showcase the advantages of working in forensic mental health with Forensicare. Staff were treated to a range of food and services, including massages, food trucks, goodies, prizes and more.

Our very own CEO Tom Dalton and Executive Director of Finance and Business Services Ian Holland served up a storm at a BBQ lunch, which featured vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, to show how much the company executives cherish our employees. Executive Director of Community Operations and Strategic Development, Jonothan Norton, opted to keep things cool by serving some lovely refreshments.

“I love this day,” Mr Dalton said.

“Part of the role of the executives is to support staff.”

“This is one way we can give back to them.”

Staff were also treated to a complimentary coffee cart, and a variety of food trucks, like frozen yoghurt, pizza, Mexican street food and a mysterious donut wall in the shape of a Christmas tree, over six feet high!

Staff kept cool in the shade, and enjoyed the music of surprise special guest DJ Jesse, who attendees say really made the day into something special and relaxed.

“It really added to the vibe,” one staff member said.

What was the best part?

Overall, the smiles were big, bellies were full of yummy food, and hands full of goodies.

“This year’s expo is bigger and better than ever,” commented one staff member.

“I love the food and the goodies we get—and the information about benefits and banking,” said another.

“I’m going to save a lot of money by switching to one of the providers.”

One of the benefit providers, who frequently tour around many other hospitals and health care services, said he was most impressed with Forensicare’s expo.

“This is one of the best benefit expos I’ve ever been to.”

Winners are grinners!

A highlight of the day was definitely the excitement surrounding the free online raffle, which was open to all Forensicare staff, so no one missed out. A total of 38 prizes were generously donated by some of our sponsors, as well as internal groups and departments.

“I’ve only just started working here, but already, I feel so welcomed and appreciated as a staff member and person,” one new employee commented.

“Plus, it’s so exciting to win!”

Some of the amazing prizes staff were able to win included:

  • A $250 Flight Centre voucher
  • A $120 Endota Spa voucher
  •  Gold Class movie tickets
  • A Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee machine
  • Various Coles Myer gift cards
  • Stationary packs
  • Urban compost bins
  • Personal training session vouchers
  • Holiday hampers

And much more!

A big, big thank you

We were lucky enough to also have stalls from our benefit providers, including Hesta, G & C Mutual, First State Super, ESS Super, Me Bank, BankVic, Fairfield Flight Centre, Smart Salary, Career Dressing and Hays.
